September 2008 Masturbating just got a whole lot better! Finally, there’s some great news for women who have a hard time getting orgasms, or even just getting in the mood. We all know about vibrators, but have you ever heard about the pump? OK, if you want to get technical, clitoral vacuum engorgement device, but here at SexHealthLife, we like to simply call it the pussy pump. The Eros Clitoral Therapy Device was the first vacuum device used for treatment of women with sexual arousal and orgasmic disorders, also referred to as female sexual dysfunction (FSD). The only other mechanical device used to treat sexual dysfunction is the vibrator. But one cause of dysfunction for many of these women is that they have diminished blood flow to the clitoris. The pump works by applying a slight vacuum to the clitoris, increasing blood flow and causing engorgement, which are the first steps in the female sexual response. Genital sensation, vaginal lubrication, ability to orgasm, and sexual satisfaction are all increased. Even women without sexual problems have reported improvement in their sexual enjoyment. Scientific studies determining the effectiveness of the Eros on sexually dysfunctional women have also found positive results for women who are sexually healthy. One, in particular, focused on testing the association between engorgement of the clitoris and the following responses: sensation, lubrication, and sexual satisfaction. Of 20 women with FSD, 18 claimed increased vaginal sensitivity, and 16 claimed increased lubrication and sexual satisfaction. In addition, half reported an increased ability to orgasm. In the same study, 12 sexually healthy women underwent the exact treatment. 7 reported increased vaginal sensitivity, lubrication, and ability to orgasm and 4 reported being more sexually satisfied. Not only does vacuum therapy offer sexual improvement, it’s safe with proper use. In the study mentioned above, none of the women, with or without FSD, reported any bad side effects, such as hypersensitivity, skin irritation, or infection. In fact, the Eros has been patented and approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration in 2000. Even more impressive, another study found that vacuum therapy could produce lasting results for women with FSD. After using the pump for several months, some of these women no longer depended on it for sexual pleasure. The authors of that study recommend Eros use 3-4 times a week. The Eros was used in all these studies because it’s the only one with an FDA approval so far. But there are also other pussy pumps available to you, in all shapes, sizes, and even pretty colors.
